About this Event

The 21st World Dance Festival Udbhav Utsav brings together folk and traditional dance ensembles, musical groups, and marching bands from around the world, hosted in Gwalior — a UNESCO Music City in Madhya Pradesh — from 23-28 October 2026. Organized under the European Association of Folklore Festivals (EAFF), the festival transforms the city into a stage for cultural exchange, featuring live performances, a ceremonial carnival parade, and direct interaction between artists and audiences, set against Gwalior's historic backdrop — including the renowned Gwalior Fort and Jai Vilas Palace. WHO CAN PARTICIPATE: Folk and traditional dance groups, musical and marching ensembles, as well as school and amateur formations — from India and internationally. WHAT TO EXPECT: Participants present their art to an international audience while experiencing Gwalior's cultural heritage firsthand — a genuine platform for cross-cultural dialogue through performance.
